The Tile Repair Process

Our process requires us to remove all the grout around the tile or tiles that need repair. If the tile cannot “pop” out, we must crack it in quadrants to remove it.

Sometimes it may also be necessary to remove other tiles around the tile that needs to be replaced.

We then replace the old tiles with the new tiles, re-setting, adhering and re-grouting those tiles in place.

In some instances, we will recommend that the whole wall or floor be re-grouted to match the color of the new grout. The new grout will be fresh, while the old, remaining grout may be discolored by age. This may result in a slight color difference, so we make sure to educate our customers on how to address the situation. However, it is important to remember that this is not the case in all repairs.

Depending on the age of your home, it may be difficult to find an exact color match for your tile.

In cases where it is not recommended to remove the tile, we can offer other options like fix-a-chip products or grouting and sealing cracks to stop leaks and address cosmetic defects.
